The "NCCP" Explained

EMTs renewing their NREMT certification (and most states) need 40 hours of continuing education topics following the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model, which is divided into the following three components:
NCCR
National Continued Compentency Requirements – 20 hours
LCCR
Local Continued Competency Requirements – 10 hours
ICCR
Individual Continued Competency Requirements – 10 hours

Start Your Transformation Now!

The NREMT has permanently eliminated all restrictions on distributive education. As such, our NCCP course is now 100% self-paced (no live training). Instructor support is available by phone and email if any questions arise while learning.

Accreditation & Approvals

Allied Medical Training is institutionally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) to provide F5 Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) and F3 self-paced online continuing education. This accreditation is accepted by the NREMT and most states.
Our state-approved EMT and EMR courses enable students to gain NREMT certification, the credential required to become licensed/certified in most states.
We’re an approved EMS training program with the Minnesota EMRSB, and our courses are also approved for continuing education credits with the MN POST Board.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our founder is a physician who was an EMT first. He recognized that the methods used to train physicians could be applied to EMT education. By doing so, we’re able to offer the most convenient recertification courses, better learning materials, and a great online learning experience.

Since 2010, thousands of EMTs have loved their experience learning with Allied. See reviews here.

We do things differently than the other training programs that cannot provide the same level of detailed attention we give our students and our curriculum design. As a small company made up of dedicated professionals, EMT training is our main focus. We do our best to ensure every student has a positive experience in the course.

Our management staff is on-site and also available via email or phone. Unlike other training programs that don’t return your calls or emails, we strive for excellent customer service. We value your time and make the registration process quick, easy, and completely online.

And to top it off, we are the only training program that offers a guarantee of our recertification courses.

If your NREMT certification has lapsed, you’re required to take the NREMT skills exam again. We offer this to our recertification students for an additional fee of $200.

Please contact us if you’re not sure what you need to renew. We’re here to help!
If your NREMT certification has lapsed, you’re required to take the NREMT skills exam again, along with the NCCP 40 hour course, and the cognitive exam.

We offer the skills exam at our Edina, MN facility for an additional fee of $200, or you can take it from any state-approved testing site.
The full NCCP training consists of 40 hours of topics available online and self-paced (F3), with 24/7 access to the course material.

On September 30th, 2022, the NREMT finalized their decision to no longer require live online (F5) training for EMT recertification, so all 40 hours can be completed online and self-paced.
Each self-paced topic includes activities such as recorded video presentations, video demonstrations, and/or articles to review. There is also a short quiz for each topic.

Additional resources include resources for reviewing and studying patient care skills such as video demonstrations.

Live online instructor-led sessions include a live presentation, Q/A period, high yield review, and then a quiz on the material presented.

You also get the full support of our staff to answer any questions you have about the renewal process.
No worries. Quizzes have unlimited attempts so you can study before taking another attempt.
Most states require EMTs be CPR certification at the healthcare provider level, officially known as Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider if taking an American Heart Association (AHA) course. This certification is not required to complete our recertification course; however, you may need it when applying for renewal to your state.
