Part 1: Online Learning
Watch presentations, view resources and complete assessments at your own pace.
Must complete one week before Part II.
24/7 access to the online course.

Part 2: Skill Training
Includes certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

All classes take place at our facility in Edina, MN. Choose the in-class format that is most convenient for your schedule.

Formerly known as just “First Responder,” an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) is the entry-level emergency healthcare certification in the United States.
Our course is POST-approved for 50 credits.
Our course also fulfills the Acute Management of Injury and Illness requirements for physical therapy initial certification through the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association).

The classroom portion of the course is offered in two formats:
Skill Weekend: Saturday & Sunday, 8:30a-6p each day
Evening Skills: Tuesday & Thursday, 6:30-10p, for two weeks in a row (4 total evenings)
You will choose your training format and dates when you register for the course.
What is an EMR?
It’s a great certification for people that may encounter injuries or illnesses as part of their job, but providing patient care is not the main part of their job. EMRs learn how to deal with life-threatening injuries and illnesses while they wait for help to arrive. How much is the tuition? What does it include?
- Online learning with a digital textbook
- Skill Weekend OR Evening Skills with the skills exam
- BLS certification (CPR/AED at the healthcare provider level)
Do you offer any payment plans or grants?
Some students find their employers are willing to sponsor their tuition if it relates to their job duties.
If an organization or company has agreed to pay your tuition, we can also invoice them on your behalf.
Is there a dress code?
Professional attire includes: a collared shirt (polo or button-down), black or tan pants, closed-toe shoes, and a watch with a second-hand.
