SEAN EWEN, MD, NREMT

Founder & Executive Director

Prior to finishing medical school, Dr. Ewen worked as an EMT and EMS Supervisor with the University of Minnesota for several years.

He graduated Summa cum laude with a B.A. in Biology from the University of St. Thomas and received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He started Allied Medical Training in 2010 while in his second year of medical school.

MARVEN EWEN, MD, ABFM

Medical Director

Dr. Marven Ewen is a board-certified family physician licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin with over 25 years experience practicing family and emergency medicine.

He has worked with EMS personnel throughout his career and brings this experience and medical expertise into the classroom to enhance students’ learning.

JOANNE EWEN, JD, NREMT

Director of Education

Joanne is an EMT, experienced mediator, and a former criminal justice professor. With extensive experience in academia, she develops curriculae for both online courses and in-class content.

In addition, Joanne is a member of the Regional Faculty for Multi Regional Training Center, an American Heart Association (AHA) training center. She organizes the AHA training programs offered by Allied Medical Training.

JENNY EWEN, BA, NREMT

Director of Operations

Jenny attended the University of Toronto, earning a BA in Professional Writing and Communication, specializing in medical writing. She uses this expertise to design curriculae and company organization and strategy.

Before joining Allied Medical Training, she worked at a Minneapolis-based magazine and worked on print campaigns for a Fortune 500 client. She is an accomplished author of numerous print and online publications, including serving as Editor of our own publication, The Allied Times.

SHANNON ZELLMANN, NREMT

Assistant Director of Training

Shannon holds an Associate degree in Business Communications. Before joining Allied Medical Training, Shannon enjoyed a 28 year career in security services and the military.  She was the Assistant Director of Campus Safety at Gustavus College and managed the EMR/Security Officer team. 

Prior to that, she was the Director of Safety and Security at Valleyfair Amusement Park where she directed and managed the EMTs and the First Aid programs, developed safety programs for guests and staff, and directed security staff. 

Shannon uses this expertise in management to maintain our high quality of training in the classroom.

SARAH FOX, BA, NREMT

Support Specialist

Sarah earned a Bachelor degree from Eckerd College while handling customer service tasks for the campus library. She went on to work for Minnesota Reading Corps, provided administrative support in libraries at MN public schools, and gained experience in patient care as a Phlebotomist in multiple clinical settings.

Sarah uses her expertise in communication and clinical experience to assist in daily business operations and ensure student satisfaction in our online course environment and in the classroom.

PETE JOHNSON, EMT, FIREFIGHTER

Lead Instructor

Pete enjoys the learning process and working with students to help achieve their goals. He also provides EMT instruction at Centennial Fire Department, where he is an on-call firefighter and Fire Prevention Lieutenant. Pete has a great understanding and appreciation for all the facets of the EMS system and the vital role that proper training has in saving lives in the field. He brings real life, front-line EMS experience to students.

Pete enjoys free time spent with his wife and four children. He is passionate about fishing, hunting, and everything outdoors. His perfect day is to blend his family with any outdoor activity.

CHRIS FULLER, EMT, DOT-I

Lead Instructor

Chris has worked for the St. Anthony Fire Department since 1995 and currently is a Full Time Captain and Fire Marshal for the city.  As first response for all calls in the City of St. Anthony he has seen just about everything in 22 years but as is the nature with EMS every call is a little different.  The variety and challenge of the job are part of what make it so rewarding and interesting.  Chris has been teaching EMS since 1999 for various State Colleges and HCMC, he joined Allied in 2015 and continues to teach for other institutions.  He also teaches Firefighter I and II, Apparatus Operator, HAZMAT, and specialized rescue.

When he has free time Chris likes spending time with his family, camping, and carting his son around to hockey/football/baseball.
