Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I train with Allied?
Our founder is a physician who was an EMT first. He recognized that the methods used to train physicians could be applied to EMT education. By doing so, we’re able to offer the most convenient recertification courses, better learning materials, and a great online learning experience.
Since 2010, thousands of EMS providers have loved their experience learning with Allied. See reviews here.
We do things differently than the other training programs that cannot provide the same level of detailed attention we give our students and our curriculum design. As a small company made up of dedicated professionals, EMT training is our main focus. We do our best to ensure every student has a positive experience in the course.
Our management staff is on-site and also available via email or phone. Unlike other training programs that don’t return your calls or emails, we strive for excellent customer service. We value your time and make the registration process quick, easy, and completely online.
And to top it off, we are the only training program that offers a guarantee of our recertification courses.

How soon do I get access to begin the online training?
Do I have to take the NREMT skill or cognitive exams?
Neither is required if your certification is still active.
If your NREMT certification has lapsed, you’re required to take the cognitive exam and get a skills verification in order to renew it.
Please contact us if you’re not sure what you need to renew. We’re here to help!
What if my certification already lapsed?
If your NREMT certification has lapsed, you’re required to take the national cognitive exam and gain skills verification, along with the NCCP 60 hour course.
How long is the NCCP training?
The full NCCP training consists of 60 hours of topics available online and self-paced (F3), with 24/7 access to the course material.
On September 30th, 2022, the NREMT finalized their decision to no longer require live online (F5) training for EMT recertification, so all 40 hours can be completed online and self-paced.
What's included with the course fee?
Each self-paced topic includes activities such as recorded video presentations, video demonstrations, and/or articles to review. There is also a short quiz for each topic.
Additional resources include resources for reviewing and studying patient care skills such as video demonstrations.
You also get the full support of our staff to answer any questions you have about the renewal process.
