When/why did you first become interested in working in the EMS field?
I took my initial EMT course in 2016 after working as a nursing assistant for 6 years. I wanted to broaden my scope of practice and gain more exposure to the medical field.
Tell us about your experience in the EMS field. What jobs have you had?
I worked on an ambulance in rural MN. My EMT certification also got me hired in a clinic doing covid testing and vaccinations during the pandemic. I have been teaching EMT skills with Allied for 8 years.
What is the most rewarding part about working in EMS?
The most rewarding part about working in EMS is the connections I get to make with people I would otherwise never had interacted with.
What is your favorite part about working for Allied Medical Training?
No one is unteachable, I enjoy working with students to develop strategies that best align with their learning style and watching them succeed.
If you could give advice to someone looking to become an EMT, what would you tell them?
You only really fail when you stop trying.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
If I could have a superpower I would want it to be unlimited energy.
